Avoid Unwanted Pregnancy With These 4 Methods

Below are the 4 most effective ways of avoiding unwanted pregnancy.

1. Birth control pills.

Birth control spills, also called "oral contraceptives", are medications you take by mouth to prevent pregnancy.
So many types of birth control pills exist, but not every type is a good fit for every woman. Many health factors may affect your choice of  birth control pill, thus you will need a prescription from your doctor.

The birth control pill work by stopping sperm from meeting an egg, which is called Fertilization.

The hormones in the pill stops ovulation. no ovulation means there's no egg hanging around for sperm to fertilize, so pregnancy can't happen.
The pill hormones also thicken the mucus on the cervix. Thicker cervical mucus makes it hard for the sperm to swim to an egg- kind of like sticky security guard.
However, birth control pill is really good at preventing pregnancy, it wont protect you from sexually transmitted infection.

 2. Abstinence.

 With abstinence(from sex), you're 100% assured pregnancy-life free

Although many birth control methods can have high rates of success if used properly, they can fail occasionally. Practicing abstinence ensures that a girl won't become pregnant because there's no opportunity of sperm to fertilize an egg.

If two people don't have sex, then sperm can't fertilize an egg and there is no possibility of o pregnancy. Some birth control methods depend on barriers that prevent the sperm from reaching the egg. Others interfere with menstrual cycle. With abstinence, no barriers or pills are necessary because the person is not being sexually intimate with others.

Abstinence may seem may seem easy but it's certainly not. Thanks to peer pressure, TV, social media etc.

If it seems like everybody else is having sex, some people may feel they have to do it too, just to be accepted. But do not let kidding of pressure from friends, girlfriend, boyfriend, or even the media to push you into something that's not right for you.

3. Condom.

Condoms are arguably the least expensive method of pregnancy prevention ant the easiest to obtain. They also prevent the contraction of sexually transmitted infections.

Condoms are sheath of thin latex or plastic worn on the erect penis during intercourse. Out of 100 women whose partners use condoms, about 15 would become pregnant with typical use(use that is usually but not always correct).
Only 2 will become pregnant with perfect use.

Condoms are widely available at drug and grocery stores, family planning clinics, as well as bathrooms vending machines.
They are free at mos campus health centers and planned parenthood
centers.

4. Emergency contraception

Also known as "morning after pill" prevents up to 120 hours after unprotected sex. The pill can be taken immediately after sex or up to 5 days later.

The pill contains progestin that prevents ovulation and or fertilization. The sooner the better but, if taken within 72 hours, it reduces a woman chances of becoming pregnant by 85%. Emergency Contraception will not cause an abortion or interrupt existing pregnancy.
